In this final KS2 place value unit, learners develop their understanding of numbers up to at least 10,000,000. They also further develop their confidence when rounding numbers, and revisit negative numbers. As with all place value work, skills are applied through other units during Year 6. If the learner is struggling with any of the concepts in this unit, it is worth revisiting Year 5 and even Year 4 place value units.
Year 6 Place Value consists of:
- Parent/tutors guide
- Place Value 1 – I can read, write, order and compare numbers to at least 10,000,000 and
determine the value of each digit.
- Place Value 2 – I can round any whole number to a required degree of accuracy.
- Place Value 3 – I can; interpret negative numbers in context; and calculate intervals across zero.
